The way we all look at things is kinda amazing. How one day we can see things in a positive light and the next so negative, Is the glass half empty or half full? Does it matter as long as it has whatever is in it at the halfway point? Is the middle such an indecisive area that we have to pick a direction such as half full or half empty? If something starts out good then goes a little bit not so good, then back to pretty good followed by a bit of mediocre and short time of bad then back to somewhat better than average still end up being good? Or at have enough "goodness" to let it qualify as good? And isnt that all just opinion and perspective anyway? When someone who reviews movie or restaurants and such becomes trusted by their readers/watchers/listeners does their opinion start to take on more importance in these areas? If one person says "I like this" or I Like That" does it matter which person it is that says so to you? I'm guessing yes it does. We all have people we look to for information about things and for their perspective on it or their opinion on whatever the subject may be. Yet, it's still just that. Their opinion and perspective. They may be more well versed in these areas giving them more credibility but it is still their opinion on the subject tat you are trusting. We've all most likely gone to a movie that the critics didnt like in general yet we enjoyed it. We've all dines at places that were liked by critics only to decide for ourselves that we didnt like it as much. Their job is to help you decide for yourself, not to decide for you. To peak your interest in finding our how good it really is or how bad at the same time gaining your trust in their opinion so you will look to them again the next time. And still, what we are receiving from them as information is still merely their opinion of it and their perspective. We've all even done that in here. Every one of us has shared with each other a place they like or dislike or a movie they did or did not like and in truth we are all at least part time critics who have an audience of peers and more that are sometimes influenced by our opinion on numerous subjects. So what's the point.
Well that's simple. Everyone has an opinion, (and you know what they say about opinions) and each of us has an area where others may look to our opinion as a resource for their decision making (some more than others ) yet when it comes right down to it the choice is still our own to make. You deciced who's opinion you trust. You decide which perspectives on subjects make sense to you. As a matter of fact, it's your opinion of the opinion given that may influence your opinion of the opinion of the persons opinion that you are forming an opinion of.
It's still your thang, do whatcha wanna do!
Give their opinions a chance while still forming your own.
Live free, think free, and if you can eat free
And dont be afraid to voice your opinion to those who want to hear. And if you dont want to read it or hear it or watch it then dont. It's a free country and you dont have to.
And have a nice day, unless you're a jerk.
